LEVEL I:  Developing the instrument: 

  • This class is design to give the students an opportunity to motivate, learn, practice, ask questions and get additional violin help and advise.

  • Knowing the Violin. Proper violin position.

  • Fundamentals and knowledge.

  • How to read staff, cifrado, diagrams. How to sight read in open position; chromatic and diatonic exercises using all fingers. Song practice. 

  • Major scales.

  • Tremolo compositions. 

  • practicing songs.

 

 

LEVEL 2 - Improving your skills: 

  • How to tune the violin. 

  • Rhythm notation. 

  • Listening and analysis. 

  • Listening Survey. Music Appreciation. 

  • Musical ideas, concepts, and genres.

  • Introductoryion to violin techniques.

  • Harmonic interval exercises.

  • Pentatonic scales. Arpeggios. 

  • Modal progressions.

 

 

LEVEL 3 - Mastering:

  • Concepts and criteria.

  • Dynamics.

  • Violin scales. Chords.

  • Searching solos to chords.

  • Violin techniques. Gospel, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Classic, Contemporary. Music Appreciation. Modal improvisation.

 

 

LEVEL 4 - On stage: 

  • Concepts and criteria. 

  • Performance Counseling.

  • Interdisciplinary ensemble class Performance tips and advice.

  • Emphasis.

  • Improvisation. Violin confidence.

  • Strings setting. 

  • Live Performance.

  • On the stage.
